Haven't heard anything but I sure hope they haven't stocked any yet given the sewage problem from the rain last week and the SCE&G release that contained no dissolved oxygen last week that probably would have seriously stressed any recent stockers. Hopefully all the "brown trout" and "crappy" in the river last week are gone and they can stock some trout now that it's getting cooler.

If you look under "fishing" on the DNR website, they tell you what has been stocked. I'm not sure where to look to find what will be stocked... Anyone else go see how high the river was? Last week it was just about to come over the top of the boat ramp at Metts on Thurs. It didn't smell very good, which surprised me cuz I thought the "spill" was a ways down river. Didn't think those "brown trout" could go upstream, especially against that current!

The rain stocked lake murray with "brownies" as well. i was fishing near the dam and caught some TP. I thought it was just some weeds until I took it off the hook and smelled the smell. The water stunk pretty bad when i went on near the dam. wasnt' so bad away from the dam, but right up on the dam it stunk like a porta-jon. That should all be down by now.

I hope the hold over trout are still alive, bacteria, super low oxygen. You can tell SCE&G knows that they pissed off some people with that low oxygen level. I have never seen them keep the oxygen level up as high as it when they have been running this much water. And the water flows are going to be high for a while, they are draining Greenwood pretty low this winter. The stocking is usually in the first week or two in December. They stocked early last year.

Just saw on the 'net that they stocked the Saluda this morn! 18,000 fingerlings - 6 to 11 inches. :D Now, if the rains will just stay away.

Hope all this rain doesn't take all the new stockers down to Lake Marion but the bright side would be bigger stripers in the spring. I was hoping to get out and try to scare up a few of them this weekend but doesn't look promising for that.

Looks like it's time to dust off the gear.

The water looks like chocolate milk and the river is flowing at a rate of around 10000 cfs. Doesn't look good for fishing any time soon.
