Fishing during April was good when we have been able to get on the
water. March and April are known for winds and this year held true to form.
However, on the days that we were able to get out on the water the fishing was
pretty decent. Average catches included 10-20 trout and 5-10 redfish per trip.
Most fish were caught on live shrimp under a cork or fished along the bottom.
Fishing during May has been pretty decent so far. More and more bait is showing
up everyday and trout are beginning to feed hard. Early morning topwater
bites on spooks have been very productive. Big red drum are starting to be caught
on a regular basis out by the Charleston jetties using cut bait fishing on the bottom.
Flounder are also beginning to show up inshore and should be present in real good number by June.
Let's go fishing!!!!
