January/ February 2009 Bass Power Rankings

SCFishingReport.com is excited to announce the first edition of the 2009 South Carolina Bass Power Rankings. These standings include January and February tournament results from major South Carolina bass fishing tournament trails - the Walmart Bass Fishing League (BFL), National Bass Circuit (NBC), Southern Anglers Challenge, Bass Anglers Invitational Trail (BAIT), Fish the Fall Tournament Trail, Carolina Anglers Tournament Trail (CATT), Fishers of Men National Tournament Trail, and the BASS Weekend Series. Points are awarded accordingly:

For tournaments with less than five boats, both first place anglers receive one point (1st - 1).

For tournaments with 5-10 boats, 1st - 2, 2nd - 1

11-20 boats, 1st - 3, 2nd - 2, 3rd - 1

21-30 boats, 1st - 4, 2nd - 3, 3rd - 2, 4th -1

31-40 boats, 1st - 5, 2nd - 4, 3rd - 3, 4th - 2, 5th - 1

41-50 boats, 1st - 6, 2nd - 5, 3rd - 4, 4th - 3, 5th - 2, 6th - 1

51-60 boats, 1st - 7, 2nd - 6, 3rd - 5, 4th - 4, 5th - 3, 6th - 2, 7th - 1

61-70 boats, 1st - 8, 2nd - 7, 3rd - 6, 4th - 5, 5th - 4, 6th - 3, 7th - 2, 8th - 1

71-80 boats, 1st - 9, 2nd - 8, 3rd - 7, 4th - 6, 7th - 5, 8th - 4, 9th - 3, 10th - 2

81 or more boats, 1st - 10, 2nd - 9, 3rd - 8, 4th - 7, 5th - 6, 6th - 5, 7th - 4, 8th - 3, 9th - 2, 10th - 1

Anglers fishing alone in a team tournament receive a 1/3 bonus. So, a 3 point finish is actually worth 4.33 if a boater is fishing alone, and a 5 point finish in a team tournament is actually worth 6.67 points for a boater fishing alone.

Finally, to be the overall 2009 SC Bass Power Rankings winner an angler must have earned points on at least three different lakes or rivers.

Congratulations to Sean Anderson, the leader in the 2009 points race who earned points in the February 8 NBC event on Lake Murray (3), the February 14 BFL event on Lake Murray (7), the February 21 Southern Anglers Challenge event on Lake Murray (2), and the February 28 Fishers of Men event on Lake Murray(4). Congratulations also to Randy Childers and Mike Tidwell, tied for second place, and Lesley Childers, alone in fourth place.
