Trout Tournament Results
January 17, 2009


January is usually our largest tournament of the year. Unfortunately, with weather forecasted to be in the single digits, we lost over half of our expected participants. Those that did show up had a great day of fishing. There were 14 fish weighted in at 2 – 5.6 pounds and many more caught, but not brought to the scales. Shay Wistrom won first place with a 5.6 lb Brown. Shay and fishing buddy, Matt McCreery, have been fishing these tournaments for many years and have placed in the money on several occasions, but I believe this is Shay’s first victory. Second and third place were caught in the same boat by Bryan “Heavy” Lee and Lee “Little Debbie” Sakovich. The results of the tournament are listed below.

Jimmie Orr Trout Tournament Championship

o All tournament anglers are automatically entered into the Jimmie Orr Championship.
o This is not a cash payout event. The winner will receive the annual championship trophy.
o Point system: 1 point for tournament participation, points for actual weight of fish weighed in (so make sure you weigh in a fish), points for 1st – 5th place.
o 2005/2006: Ed Reeves
o 2006/2007: Bubba Brunson
o 2007/2008: Zan Maddox
