Striper Kings of Greenville had their 3rd Points Tournament of the season this Saturday from Dreher Island. Thanks to tournament director Allen Hill for these results.

Striper Kings Points Tournament #3 launched out of Dreher Island State Park. It was a beautiful but windy day, and most anglers tried to find protected coves to avoid getting blown around and beat to death. Despite warm air temperatures the water was a chilly 47 degrees, and the fishing was tough. The tournament had 29 boats, with 66 adults and 5 youth anglers fishing. However, only 9 boats caught keeper fish and weighed in. The prevailing pattern was pulling live herring in the area from the Gap up to where the rivers fork. The top 5 weights were:

1. David, Tommy, Caleb, and Christian Richardson of Aiken and the Clark's Hill Striper Club - 25.98 lbs, $267.00

2. Mike Barnett, Bill Shirah, Gene Croxdale, David Barnett -- 21.93 lbs, $223.00

3. Barry Taylor and Joey Holden, I fish weighing 17.33 lbs, $178.00

4. Burn Peterson and Ted Davis - 16.22 lbs, $133.00

5. Leonard Bishop, Sr., and Leonard Bishop, Jr. -- 10.14 lbs, $89.00

The winners of the Junior Youth Division were Caleb and Christian Richardson, and the winner of the Senior Youth Division was Adam Hallman.

The winner of the winner take all "tournament within the tournament", an optional side pot with 11 participating boats paying $25.00 each, was Team Richardson who won another $275.00 for this victory. Congratulations to David, Tommy, Caleb, and Christian.

Finally, the big fish winners were:

1. Joey Holden with a 17.35 pound beauty worth $224.00

2. Mike Barnett with a 12.24 pound striper worth $96.00
