The Midlands Striper Club is a family-oriented fishing club organized to stimulate public awareness of striped bass fishing. They promote sportmanship, conservation and demand adequate water quality, and are based in Columbia, S.C. on beautiful Lake Murray. Tournaments are held on the third Saturday of each month, with times following safe light conditions. July is usually a night tournament beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. and ending Saturday at 10:00 a.m. They have a Youth Tournament and a Ladies Tournament annually. Striper Kings is a Greenville-based striped bass fishing group. The club is over 25 years old and has approximately 300 members. They fish a 13 tournament trail on Lakes Hartwell, Murray and Thurmond - see the tournament page for dates. Every other tuesday night the group meets at Carolina Fine Foods in Simpsonville at 7:30 pm.The cost to join is $60.00 and $10.00 to renew each year. Striper Kings' President is Ronnie Sims. |

Christian Angler's Striper Trail (CAST)

CAST will be holding striped bass tournaments on the Saturday following the last Friday of each month. Tournaments will be held on Lake Murray and Clark's Hill (Lake Thurmond). The purpose of the new organization will be for Christian fellowship, reaching the un-churched and providing a Christian atmosphere for striper fishing. While many churches offer men and women the opportunity to participate in a Christian bass fishing organization, this is the first striped bass organization of its kind. The first tournament will be held on Saturday, March 1 at Lake Murray. On Friday night, prior to the tournament, an organizational/club meeting will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Aiken, South Carolina.
